The Coolness Factor

It seems there is a trend with pictures of “cool” people. A lot of them tend to be wearing sunglasses to cover themselves or hide in some way. What I don’t understand is why are they trying to hide? Cool people know that people notice them, thats one of the factors that makes them cool. Why do they feel the need to keep a certain mystery or hide away when they are obviously so out in the open and different? Are sunglasses really a way of shielding one selves or do cool people know why they purposely try to hide away with this type of shielding method or protection. Just a thought.
